Our Grands Crus are the unique reflection of the expression of a classified terroir, revealed in its purest singularity. They restore in the cellar the exclusive influence of the microclimate specific to our Alsace region.
Granite soil
Our vineyard stretches across steep, south-facing terroirs dominated by granite soil known as “two-mica.”
These exceptional, intensely sunny conditions are found particularly on the Sommerberg in Niedermorschwihr, the Brand in Turckheim, and the Wineck-Schlossberg in Katzenthal.
In addition, the Florimont hill, characterized by typically Mediterranean flora and fauna, grows on mano-limestone soils above Ingersheim.
Maturation on fine lees
On these steep slopes, the harvest is exclusively manual.
The grapes are then pressed slowly and gently for six hours to preserve all of the subtle aromas.
Vinification then takes place naturally, using indigenous yeasts, in century-old oak barrels.
Finally, aging on fine lees lasts nearly a year, before bottling in the summer, at the beginning of the new harvest.

“Steep and sunny soils, up to 45° slope”
The geological richness of Alsace is composed of thirteen varieties of wine-growing soils, forming a unique mosaic of terroirs conducive to the production of wines with a strong personality.
At the Justin Boxler estate, the soils are mainly divided between granite (Brand, Sommerberg, Wineck-Schlossberg), limestone (Florimont, Pfoeller), as well as clay and marl-sandstone.
Double-mica granitic:
Colline du Soleil : Grand Cru du Sommerberg, located in Niedermorschwihr, covers 29 hectares of this hill inclined at 45°, facing due south.
Tierra del Fuego: the Grand Cru Brand, located in Turckheim, extends over 58 hectares of this arc-shaped hillside.
Castle Hill : The Wineck-Schlossberg Grand Cru, in Katzenthal, occupies 28 hectares of this area.
